Registration open: The Food Sweden conference 2026
Theme: Food Processing Science
The Swedish food system faces significant challenges in food processing. The Food Science Sweden Conference 2026 in Lund will highlight the role of food processing science in shaping healthier, more sustainable food systems, as concerns about ultra-processed foods continue to rise.
Food processing has always been central to feeding populations safely and efficiently, yet its role in shaping nutritional quality and public health has never been more debated. As food systems evolve, the rise of new technologies and processes has challenged traditional perspectives on innovation, convenience, and health, as well as definitions such as ultra-processing.
This conference brings together researchers and industry professionals to explore how processing technologies can be aligned with nutritional goals, sustainability, and consumer well-being. By presenting the science behind processing, we aim to foster informed dialogue and evidence-based solutions for the future of food.
We are pleased to announce that Assoc. Prof. Andreas Håkansson (Lund University), Prof. Susanne Bügel (University of Copenhagen), and Prof. Simon Dankel (University of Bergen) will be presenting at the conference.
Additional programme updates will be shared shortly.
