PhD project: Recovery and utilization of rapeseed protein

My research is centered on the recovery and utilization of rapeseed protein. Rapeseed is the second-largest cultivated oilseed crop globally, primarily harvested for vegetable oil. However, the protein-rich rapeseed press cake, a by-product of this process, holds significant potential. My PhD project focuses on developing sustainable process engineering methods to valorize and utilize these proteins effectively.

About me

My name is Cecilia, and I am originally from Lindesberg. I moved to Lund in 2013 to pursue my studies and now hold an MSc in Chemical Engineering with a specialization in process design.

I have a deep passion for food and cooking, and I am thrilled to combine this passion with my academic background in my current research.

If asked about my favorite piece of process equipment, I would enthusiastically choose the extruder. This machine is essential for creating texture in plant-based meat analogs, which aligns perfectly with my interests in food technology and sustainable processes.
