Chalmers University of Technology – Food and Nutrition Science

The Division of Food and Nutrition Science (FNS) at Chalmers University of Technology tackles major societal challenges in sustainable food production, nutrition, and health through fundamental and applied research, innovation, education, and dissemination. Their work aims to provide new knowledge and solutions for a sustainable planet and healthy humans. Research areas include food chemistry, food technology, and molecular and data-driven nutrition.

The division focuses on marine and plant-based food systems to enhance food quality, reduce losses in the value chain, and recover nutrients from alternative biomasses. In nutrition, they conduct human observational and intervention studies, as well as cell-based model studies, using advanced data-driven methods and OMIC technologies to understand and predict the impact of foods and dietary patterns on human health. The research also addresses global food security in an international context.

Örebro Universitet – Food and Health

Örebro University’s profile area, Food and Health, focuses on making sustainably produced food with health benefits the first choice for consumers. The vision is to offer food that tastes good, is healthy, sustainably produced, and affordable.

The research within Food and Health aims to understand which dietary changes lead to specific health effects, for whom, and at what stage of life. Researchers also investigate what influences consumers’ food choices and how to encourage people to eat individually tailored diets that promote long-term health and well-being. The goal is to make it easier for people to eat right and sustainably, and to develop new methods and technologies to measure health effects at the individual level.
